Quick facts
Appearance
A small, slender goby with a yellowish body and six dark spots or saddle markings along the sides. The dorsal fin is rayed and positioned toward the head, and the fish has a large, subterminal mouth adapted for sifting sand and rubble.
Diet and feeding
Feeds on small crustaceans, copepods, and other micro-organisms found in sand and rubble. In captivity, provide high-quality frozen foods (mysis shrimp, copepod-enriched preparations) and small live foods when available.

Moderate - The most common sand-sifter. Requires established tank with plenty of microfauna. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
