Appearance
Purple Tang is a laterally compressed fish with a vibrant purple-blue body, bright yellow dorsal and anal fins, and yellow pectoral fin margins. The species has the characteristic tang body shape with venomous spines on the caudal peduncle.
Diet and feeding
Feed high-quality herbivore preparations including dried seaweed, spirulina-based pellets, and occasional fresh macroalgae. Provide 1-2 times daily. Some supplemental meaty foods can be offered occasionally, but the diet should be primarily vegetable-based to prevent health issues and maintain coloration.

Moderate - Requires some experience due to specific dietary water or tank requirements. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
