Fish in the family Syngnathidae. Expert care. Reef Safe.
Quick facts
Appearance
Pontoh's Pygmy Seahorse is one of the smallest seahorse species, reaching only about 1.5 inches in length. It has a slender body with a distinctive head and prehensile tail characteristic of seahorses. The coloration is typically tan, orange, or reddish with fine spotting or striping patterns that help it blend in with seagrass and coral habitats.
Diet and feeding
Feed small live copepods, amphipods, and mysis shrimp 2–3 times daily. This species is a poor feeder and requires abundant live food sources; frozen foods alone are often insufficient. A mature refugium with established copepod populations is highly beneficial.
