Appearance
Elongate brown to olive-green body with a somewhat blunt head and large eyes. Exhibits a distinctive row of spines along the dorsal fin and dark banding or mottling across the body; males may develop a cirrus (tentacle-like projection) above each eye.

Zooplankton, small crustaceans, marine worms, seaweed in wild and brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, chopped fish, seaweed in aquariums
