Appearance

Pictichromis aurifrons is a small, elongated fish with a vibrant purple or magenta body and a distinctive gold or orange head. The dorsal and anal fins are elongated, and the species exhibits a sleek, streamlined body shape typical of dottyback-type plesiopids.

Diet and feeding

Feed high-quality frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, frozen copepods, and finely chopped seafood. May also accept small live foods. Feed 2–3 times daily in portions the fish can consume in 1–2 minutes.
