Appearance

The Engineer Goby is a slender, elongated fish with a tan to light brown body marked with white or cream-colored bands and spots. It has a distinctive somewhat flattened head and small eyes, with a preference for burrowing behavior that makes its burrow-dwelling lifestyle a defining characteristic.

Diet and feeding

Feed small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped frozen foods. Offer 1-2 times daily in small portions. This species is a micro-predator that benefits from frequent small feedings of appropriately sized prey.
