Omnivorous scavengers that consume algae, detritus, small crustaceans, and carrion. Feed varied diet of dried seaweed, pellets, and occasional live/frozen foods like mysis shrimp.
Origin and habitat
Western Atlantic, from Florida and the Caribbean south to Brazil.

• Minimum 20 gallon tank • Temperature range 72–78°F, maintain stable salinity 1.023–1.025 and pH 8.1–8.3 • Provide rocky outcrops and crevices for hiding; nocturnal and shy • Feed dried seaweed, algae wafers, and occasional meaty foods; scavenger diet • Active at night; may nip at soft corals or small polyps if hungry
