Appearance
Ecsenius yaeyamaensis is a small blenny reaching about 3.5 inches at maturity. It displays a mottled brown and tan coloration with darker banding, allowing effective camouflage on reef rocks. The species has the characteristic high-set eyes and terminal mouth typical of the Blenniidae family.
Diet and feeding
Primarily a grazer feeding on small crustaceans, zooplankton, and algae in the wild. In captivity, offer high-quality frozen foods (mysis shrimp, copepods) and quality flake foods designed for small reef fish 2-3 times daily.
