Quick facts
Appearance
Bright yellow body with a flattened, disc-like shape typical of surgeonfish. Venomous spines located on both sides of the base of the tail are used for defense and territorial displays.
Diet and feeding
Feed primarily high-quality marine algae, seaweed sheets (nori), and spirulina. Supplement with quality herbivore pellets. In the wild they graze on macroalgae and turf algae; captive specimens require frequent vegetable matter to remain healthy and reduce aggression.

Moderate - Rare, expensive white morph variant. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
