Appearance

Compact dwarf with a yellow-to-opal body and sky-blue facial sheen; males develop a rounded, fan-like dorsal fin. The 'opal' line-bred form is heavily blue.

One of the most peaceful and cold-tolerant apistos; suitable for subtropical, unheated-room community tanks. Mildly territorial when breeding. Will eat shrimplets and tiny fry. Tolerates harder water than most apistos.
