Appearance

Males of this striking species (in the A. agassizii group) show a vivid red tail and red-edged fins with a blue-flecked body; sold under several trade names.

Keeper notes

Harem spawner, territorial when breeding. Will eat shrimp and fry. Demands very soft, very acidic blackwater; mostly wild-caught and sensitive. For experienced apisto keepers only.
