Appearance
A small, slender blenny with a mottled brown to tan coloration, typically with darker bands or reticulated patterns across the body. The species has a distinctive small eye placement and a relatively streamlined body shape typical of the Ecsenius genus, with a single dorsal fin running the length of the back.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods such as copepods, amphipods, and small frozen preparations (mysis, brine shrimp). Supplement with small amounts of algae-based foods or dried seaweed sheets. Feed 2-3 times daily in small portions.
Difficulty and care for the Persian Blenny
Moderately challenging. Requires stable water conditions, adequate live rock for grazing and refuge, and a varied diet of small organisms. Best suited to established reef systems rather than new tanks.

Origin and habitat
Indo-Pacific region, including the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and eastward to the Indo-Pacific coral reef systems. Found in warm tropical reef environments.
