Appearance
The Ocean Surgeonfish is a small tang with a laterally compressed body and predominantly blue-grey coloration. It features a yellow stripe running along the dorsal fin edge and distinctive yellow markings on the tail peduncle. Like all surgeonfishes, it has a sharp, venomous spine on each side of the tail base used defensively.
Diet and feeding
Feed high-quality marine herbivore preparations, dried seaweed (nori), and macroalgae such as Ulva or Saccharomyces multiple times daily. Supplement with occasional spirulina-based foods to ensure adequate nutrition.
