Appearance

Males develop an iridescent golden-green head and body with bright scale flecking; females show a black-and-yellow brooding pattern. Larger and showier than the common golden dwarf.

Keeper notes

Generally peaceful but the female fiercely guards fry. Larger than N. anomala so give more floor space and caves. Will eat shrimp and fry. Keep one male with one or more females.
