Appearance
Fowler's Surgeonfish is a yellow surgeonfish with an olivaceous to brownish-yellow body. It features a yellow tail and dorsal fin, and characteristic venomous spines (scalpel-like keels) on either side of the caudal peduncle, typical of the Acanthuridae family. Adults display subtle banding and the body shape is compressed laterally.

Difficulty and care for the Fowler's Surgeonfish
Fowler's Surgeonfish is moderately challenging due to its herbivore dietary demands, susceptibility to parasitic infections in poor water quality, and occasional aggression toward other tangs. However, it is hardy once established in stable reef conditions.
