Appearance

Showy hybrid with an exaggerated fluid-filled forehead 'kok' (hump), bold red/orange coloration, pearl spangling and 'flower' markings along the flanks.

Man-made hybrid (no wild population; bred from Central American cichlids such as Amphilophus, Vieja and Cichlasoma trimaculatus stock, originating in Malaysia/Taiwan in the late 1990s)

Keeper notes

Man-made hybrid bred for its huge nuchal hump and color; extremely aggressive and territorial, almost always best kept as a single specimen. Personable 'wet pet' that interacts with its keeper.
