Appearance

A slender blenny with a slightly compressed body and pointed head. Coloration is typically tan to brown with darker mottled markings and a darker stripe running through the eye. The most distinctive feature is the presence of branched, filamentous tentacles (cirri) above the eyes, which give this species its common name.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied diet of small meaty foods (mysis shrimp, brine shrimp) and high-quality herbivore pellets. This species grazes on algae and small crustaceans in the wild, so include both protein and vegetable matter in captivity.
